I have a mid 2009 macbook pro with a broken LCD (the glass isn't broken). Instead of just replacing the damaged LCD, I was wonder if it's possible to replace it with a matte alternative instead?

Would I have to buy a new display assembly (make it look like a stock macbook with matte)? Or could I just buy a matte glass (like techrestore) or am I just too ambitious?
