I want to get an inexpensive external / Samsung monitor for occasional use for my work, to my Macbook Pro 15" with touchbar (2018 model). I woud use video conferencing a lot - so in the below case, I'd hear the person from my monitor, but the mic in use would be on the laptop.
The Samsung model I found includes built-in speakers, and I'd connect the devices using an HDMI cable. If my laptop is going to route sound to the monitor's speakers, which is a nice bonus (I wasn't really looking for external speakers but the model I like happens to include them), will this be a problem for video conferencing and possible echo? I mean, if I'm on Facetime or any other VC software, with the mic working from the Macbook Pro, and sound coming from the monitor - would this confuse the Mac in any way by echoing the voice of the person speaking to me? I imagine this is a trivial problem that has been tested and resolved by Apple, but I want to be sure before I order my monitor, hence my question here. Thanks so much!
