Hello everyone.

Last year I uninstalled the optical drive of my Macbook pro Earyl 2011 and installed a sledge (I do not know what they are called) to use a second harddrive.

Nowadays, I am considering buying a new Macbook pro with retina display. I wonder, since it does not have an optical drive, will I be able to install a secondary harddrive?

Thanks.

You will not be able to install a second drive in the retina MBP.

For all intents and purposes, its sealed from the consumer.

Thanks maflynn.

Can you elaborate on "sealed" I know I am not supposed to open up my MBP. Do you mean that? Or is there an extra protection other than screws (like glue or something) that prevents me from installing one? Or is there no place to install one?

Thanks again.

There isn't anywhere to install one.
