I bought my current MacBook Pro with the student discount and nobody at the Apple Store ever asked me for my student ID or .edu email address (I had both handy in case).Hi! I´m traveling to New York from Sweden soon and is planning to buy a MacBook Pro. Would it be possible to get the student discount there in a store if I show like an ISIC card or do you even have to show student id?
Yes, I've made several EDU purchases for my kids, and was prepared to show proof but was never asked.I bought my current MacBook Pro with the student discount and nobody at the Apple Store ever asked me for my student ID or .edu email address (I had both handy in case).
If you have student ID, they will give it to you on the spot. If you have corporate ID (even a business card with accompanying photo ID) they will give it to you on the spot. You can always go to the online store and "select the college you go to" (not sure they even require that anymore) and get a student discount.
The student discount isn't much, but the associated requirements are low, too.
Here in the EU, you have to provide some sort of authentication to access the Apple Online Store for Education. Usually this is done via the Unidays-account which students at most universities can set up, but there are alternatives like sending a copy of your Student ID/immatriculation papers to Apple and have someone manually approve it. Once you're past that point and successfully have accessed Apple's EDU store, there are usually no more authentications necessary. Not sure if the situation in the US is the same but I presume this is the general system that Apple uses in most countries. If I want to order a macbook pro and get it shipped to my house do I have to provide any info(I dont even know my EDU email since Ive never used it) dont want an issue once the order is placed

In the US you can order it online and get it delivered, no question asked.
At least here in the states - no. Many years ago, I would call to an sales agent, and just tell them the name of the institution (I picked a local community college). Later, on the web, you just choose a school - no verification. My daughters both use gmail as their email, and have ordered this way.If I want to order a macbook pro and get it shipped to my house do I have to provide any info
Okey but do you guys believe it will still work although I’m not from United States?
They aren't going to discriminate, especially if you have a form of Student ID, and especially in the NYC stores where they handle cases like yours from all over the world. They don't have a specific SKU for educational Macs.Okey but do you guys believe it will still work although I’m not from United States?
