So I erased os 10.8 and installed os 10.6 on my macbook pro (its a mid 2010 model so its officially supported by 10.6) and after installing os 10.6 i restored all my files and settings. After finishing that and going to the login screen i found that my password wouldn't work. So i booted the recovery partition on my time machine disk and reset the password using terminal. Now though, when I boot up it will only go to a blue screen just after the white screen with the apple logo. So i booted off the recovery partition again and ran a disk check. It showed there was 2 corruptions so i repaired the disk and it said it was successful. However after repairing the disk i still cannot get past the blue screen at start up. I am at a loss for why this is being so stupid. Did apple put something in the last firmware update for my mbp that prevents it from running 10.6 or is there a problem with my hard drive?
Im posting this from my ipod touch so sorry if theres a lot of spelling errors.
----------
Some information i forgot to add was that prior to me erasing os 10.8 i was getting a lot of system errors and my mbp kept completely crashing. Thinking this is most likely a hard drive problem but im not sure.
Also when it gets to the blue screen the fan on mbp spins up really high it sounds like a small vaccuum. :/
