I was browsing the internet one day on my 2.33 C2D MBP and in the middle of watching a youtube video, the computer froze, and my mouse icon looked like this:

I shut down the computer, restarted, and ever since it keeps getting stuck on a solid grey screen (after the apple logo).

I did a safe boot, and it booted, but the mouse icon in safe boot is the same as above.

It still will not boot into the actual OS, stuck on solid grey screen.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is it software (OS), HDD, or logic board failure?

Thanks

Something similar happened to me, but my whole screen would get pixel patterns and then after booting into safe mode it worked but evtually it even stop booting. It's hardware and could be sth to do with the graphics card.
