I have a Intel core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz, 4 GB Ram MacBook Pro running Mac Os X 10.5.8 and just last night I went to hit 'Shift' to make 'c' a capital letter but it didn't do anything; just made a noise. And I tried 'Shift' on all the other keys and it worked perfectly... anyone know what's going on?

Do you have that key mapped to anything? When my "\" key wouldn't work, I found out that it is mapped to the text to speech function.

If that isn't the case, try resetting the PRAM and PMU.

If that still fails, bring your MacBook Pro into a local Apple Certified Reseller or Apple Store.

Thanks, I accidentally told the speech program to speak selected text when I press "Shift+C" and I turned it off, so now it works!:):apple:

Shift + C key.

Thank you so much. The letter C now works again. I too had the shift+C connected to my speech program. Whew!
