I received my new microphone today in the mail. The cable itself is a XLR to 3.5 mm cable. I plugged the microphone into the headphone jack on the left side, opened up my system preferences, Input, and looked for the "External Microphone" option, but it wasn't there. I then checked the output section and saw that the microphone was recognized as a output source that won't give out any sound... How can I fix this? The 3.5 mm part of the cable has 2 black lines, and I realized that the Apple earphones have 3 black lines on it. Is that the problem? Thanks.
