I have an older Mac book pro that runs os lion. It won’t start up. I opened it recovery mode and it can’t repair the system disk (although it says it needs repair). When I try to reinstall os lion it says the disk is locked. Help

When you tried to reinstall the OS, did you boot to the globe screen (Internet recovery)? Command + alt + r If you didn't do that, give it a try. That may give you access and allow you to reinstall.

So I just tried that and now now drive/disk shows at all on the reinstall screen. Thoughts?
