Macbook Pro - XP won't use external monitor on boot

When I boot to XP it won't use my external monitor until I log in and switch it with the nvidia control panel. I have to do this each time I start Windows. Is there a way to get it to always use my external monitor as primary? I have a Macbook Pro (Santa Rosa), using bootcamp 1.4
