I've already posted this on another thread but since it was another problem and already solved (but mine hasn't), so I decided to put my own thread for better chance of having someone replying.
I've been currently having serious lagging on playing games and watching videos (sometimes on bootcamp). Here is my rig:

  • 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with 6MB L3 cache (Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz)
  • 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM
  • 750GB 5400-rpm hard drive
  • 15.4-ichh (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display; 1440 by 900 pixels
  • Intel HD Graphic 4000
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics processor with 1GB GDDR5 memory

I've tried to play Diablo 3 on both MAC and Windows 7 Ultimate (bootcamp) but it still gives me the same lags every 2-3 seconds no matter where I am or on any setting. Even on some games like Team Fortress 2, Battlefield : Bad Company 2, War of Immortals (actually just wanted to see if I can run it better BUT NO), Gotham Impostors, The Walking Dead, it still gives me lag every 2-3 seconds?? If you are talking about my network issue then I can assure you it's NOT. When I looked up into some youtube videos I saw all the guys with older hardware could play games like Battlefield : bad company 2 without any lag at all.

I also tried many methods from the internet support provides like setting power management, update driver to 306.02 beta, windows/OSX updates, verify/repair disk on OSX Lion but the problem never changes. I wonder what is going wrong with my MPR since I only bought it 4 days ago and my technical support didn't help me much at all (there is a guy even tried to tell me to get a 64-bits Diablo III, seriously!?) and I'm considering to change my MPR to another one.

I admit that I don't really have much knowledge about notebook gaming but what I should know is my mid 2012 MPR 15" could play at least most of games (even on lowest setting) without lagging every 2-3 seconds, right?

I tried to run War of Immortal (a game that doesn't demand much at all) along with GPU-Z to see what is wrong with my GPU and I notice that everytime the game lags the GPU couldn't load at all (It is WEIRD because I did set the nvidial control panel to higher performance), then started to load again.

So, should I exchange it to another one after all?
