i'm looking at upgrading the ram for my 2.16 MB (3rd gen one right before santa rosa chipset) and curious how much i can put in there. i thought originally i could only put 2 1gig sticks to make the total to 2 gigs. i did some more reading and it says it can take a max of 3.3 gigs, and that you can just buy 4 gigs worth and it will use what it can recognize. is this true? or should i just order a 2gig and 1gig, or even just one 2 gig and have 2.5 gig? any help would be great and any info on where to buy the ram other than from Apple would be good as well. thanks in advance.

You can even use their memory scanner tool to check for available upgrades for your machine.
