My MacBook Retina will not turn on its display. The fan is running as if it was frozen. Basically if I listen to the fan it turns on and off in a repeated pattern. If I hold down the power button then nothing happens. Is there anything I should try that might reset the MacBook. I have held down the power button for a minute and nothing happens. Need any ideas. Thank you

SMC Reset?

You should try reseting the Macbook Pro's SMC.

Follow these steps:
Shutdown your MacBook Air / MacBook Pro

Connect the power adapter to your Mac

On the MacBook/Pro’s keyboard, hold down the Shift+Control+Option keys and the Power button at the same time

Release all keys and the power button at the same time

Boot your Mac as usual

Didn't work. I can not turn my MacBook off as its wont turn on. When the power is plugged in I can hear some fan that is really quite blow air out every second repeatedly
