I bought a new MackBook Pro 2018 during the extended holiday return period, which ended on January 8th. I'm starting to have key repeating issues and also found a dead pixel. I'm waiting to hear back from a senior advisor on whether they will make an exception and do an exchange. Has anyone ever had Apple make such an exception within a few days after the return period?

Yes, it is not entirely uncommon.

Let them know that you can either exchange it for a new model or send it in for copious amounts of service related repairs.

A small time difference like that, for legitimate issues, shouldn’t be an issue. At least, I wouldn’t think it would be.

There's a reason why Apple tops the charts for support, I had an iPad that I exchanged for a different model 2 (maybe 3, I forget) after purchase. Granted it wasn't a return but the fact remains I was able to turn in the iPad and get a different model well beyond the return period.

I have certainly had Apple make exceptions in the return/exchange period when it has been in regards to their standard 14 days policy.

I haven’t attempted that with the extended holiday return policy. They might already consider this an extension of the 14 days. Let us know!

I sent several emails to the manager I spoke with, and also left a voice mail. So far, no response. :(

considering it's under warranty they should. The only tricky thing is there is no MacBook pro 2018 repair program, yet. I don't see them charging you. Especially for a 2000 dollar machine.
