Hey, my new white macbook runs slower on battery that when it is plugged in. The most noticeable thing is that the applications folder loads slower and is laggy to scroll in.

Unchecking put harddrive to sleep when possible did not fix the problem.

Any ideas or is it supposed to run slower to save battery?

By default the MB uses a more conservative power setting while running on battery compared to AC power.

The option to change this though doesn't seem to be available on my MB, some of the older models/running Leopard had this option though I seem to remember.

I've never noticed a difference though like you're describing with my laptop.

no way of changing this. if you play game on windows part and unplug it you can see how the fps slows down and so on. Its part of the under-os coding to put into lameman's terms. Its not part of OS.
