Was looking at some of the specs here... http://www.apple.com/macbook/specs/

Supported scaled resolutions:
1440 by 900
1280 by 800
1024 by 640

Does this mean plugging into a 24inch monitor CANNOT do 1920x1200?

Can it do higher for the 4K monitors? thoughts?

Keep in mind, the dongles Apple is showing now do NOT support the resolution the port is capable of, rather, they only allow screen mirroring up to 1080p.
