ok ill get right to the point.

my macbook works with my HDTV

Mini-VGA adapter > VGA Cable > TV

But when trying to hook it up to my new monitor.(24inch) screen wont come on.. (DVI-I)

Ive tried Mini VGA adapter > HP Cable Supplied (VGA one End DVI other)

Also Tried

Mini VGA Adapter > Standard VGA Cable > VGA-DVI Adapter

nothing works... the macbook detects its a HP and resolution of 1900x1200 but screen states there no signal (monitor works with my pc fine)

i heard that apple adapters only work with ports that they was made for. for example VGA adapter will only work with VGa port.

So if i bought Mini DVI Adapter it should work?

it should work with mini dvi - dvi adapter. VGA is analog and DVI is digital so that might be your problem
