MacBook Air 11" Mid 2013

Heya,
I just wanted to make a clean install of Yosemite so I plugged in my USB stick with Yosemite on it, rebooted the Mac, went into Disk Utility and erased the disk and created a new partition. I then went into the installation menu and when it asked me where I wanted to install Yosemite to there was only my USB stick available.

So I went into disk utility again and the only thing there was my USB stick. The flash/SSD drive was not visible. I rebooted the Mac and now I can't get into anything - just a blank illuminated black screen.

I've tried SMC reset.
I've tried PRAM reset.
I've tried unhooking the battery.
I've tried removing the flash storage and inserted it again.

Nothing works. All I hear is the MacBook chime and I see a black illuminated screen.

Single User Mode, Internet Recovery, Recovery mode, disk selection, etc.... Nothing gets me anywhere.

Does anyone have a clue what happened & how this can be fixed?
Thanks!!!
