My MacBook screen goes black in certain tilted positions. Sometimes I have to tilt the screen to extreme back or forward position to get it operating. Has this happened to anyone else. Could this be the cable to the screen?

My wife's macbook had similar issue. It started exactly after 1 year (one week after the warranty). I thought that something is wrong with the graphic card and took it to the apple store. They could not reproduce the problem but extended the warranty for another 3 months. The screen progressively got worse and would require several readjustments/tilting. It didn't go blank but gradually faded before finally blanking or freezing.
I took it back to the apple store and they figured out some issue with the screen. Original repair cost was $280.00 or more but they gave me 50% discount. Screen and frame was replaced and now the macbook works perfectly fine.
I initially thought some cable connecting to the screen but it seems like that issue is more with the screen and the panel that goes around the screen.
I hope it helps.
