Well i will be getting a Macbook soon and i wanted to know is the better investment for Macbook protection that will be in a backpack to take to school via bus/subway. Will a sleeve or a shell get better protection and whic one do you all recommend.
Sleeve, a shell will get dust under it and dig holes into your MB if you don't clean it often. As long as you care about your MacBook a lot and don't do silly things like scratch it by accident, a sleeve is the way to go. If you're one who is accident prone and messes up a lot, go with the shell.
I've been using a shell for 15 months and don't have a single scratch on mine. It's been off twice (once for cleaning, once to replace with the Incase shell), and I just wipe off a very minor amount of superfine dust and put it back on. The MB case itself looks like new.
It's really up to you based on your use and what's more convenient, but beware the FUDmeisters...
