Macbook slow shutdown

When I first got my macbook (4gb of ram, 250gb HD and 2.4 dual core) it shut down in about 15 seconds. I loved that.

Now however 2 months later. it is taking more than 2 minutes to shut down. Why? I don't have many programs on the comptuer other than NeoOffice and what comes with the computer. I took away my windows partition....so what could be causing such a dramatic shift?
