Randomly i turned my computer on today and my macbook did some funny things and is slowing downing and hanging up on simple things. What are some things i could do to make sure everything is in working order and i'm running as fast as possible? Thanks!:D

ps, i have 117 gb's free so that's definitely not the problem!

Search for a program called Onyx. Not too sure after that maybe a leopard reinstall?

it's probably just spotlight indexing things. check you activity monitor and see if there's any process that's taking up a lot of CPU or RAM.

Actually i have tiger. haha Everything looks pretty good usage wise but it says a gig of my ram is "inactive". Why is that? Should it be that way or can i some how activate the other gig to help with speed? Cause i only have about 30 mb's or so free of ram usage.

IIRC, according to Apple KBase, you should consider "inactive" as free memory. It's not being used so if and when your computer needs the memory, it will be available so "free" + "inactive" = total free RAM available.
