MacBook snow leopard DVD on mac mini

I have a mac mini running leopard. I just bought my wife a MacBook which came with snow leopard. Can I use the restore/install DVD to get snow leopard on the mini?

Hundreds of threads would tell you that not only is this illegal, it's impossible, as restore disks are machine specific.

the discs that came with your g/f's purchase (gray colored) are system specific and will only work on the system as she bought.
