Macbook Speakers not loud!

is it just me or did my macbook's speakers get low? it seems like they aren't as loud as they used to be! did i perhaps mess with something? i went to the settings and checked the sound settings but everything there seems to be ok! i have the volume on my mac. all the way up, and itunes is also turned up!

Macbook speakers arnt loud at all in the first place. They are mainly for little sound effects and notifications, etc. if you want to hear anything, get some real speakers.

yeah they aren't loud, but what i meant was they were loud enough for me to hear even with background noise (tv on, fan on, small background noise) and now it seems like i have to move my head closer to the screen to hear things...:/

MacBooks a great comp with one flaw, speakers suck!

It's been that way since revision 1.1.

I always used my iPod headphones when I wanted to be able to hear something.

also the original macbooks always got cracks on the palm rest. to me thats almost a bigger issue

are the origional macbooks the ones that are one solid color white/black :O omg if so i don't want that to happen to mine the problem i am having with my white mac is that after i bought this keyboard protecting thing i had it for like 9 months, sure it did not allow dust to go in, but the problem is that the space bar has this greyish/blackish stain in the center idk how it got there it is so annoying!

yes yours and mine are the kind that do. a crack will usually come right where the palm rest thing meets the rest of the outer shell right above the sleep light.
but thats enough horror stories for one night....need to save some for Halloween.
