Hi guys

I have a 250GB SSD in my MBP just now and have historically used a Synology NAS to store around 1TB of media files. I am now trying to move to iCloud so I can ditch the NAS.

My approach has been to set iCloud to "Optimise Mac Storage" and also to take desktop & documents folder.

So do I simply connect to my NAS and copy and paste the files into my documents (or other location as appropriate) and the Mac will sort the rest? I.e. it will manage my local storage of only 250GB and automatically stick the rest into the iCloud?

The reason I ask is I have begun doing this and keep getting the warning message for storage almost being full. I also notice while I am uploading to iCloud it is also downloading from iCloud which I didn't expect.

Thanks
