Greetings all,

I opened up my late model macbook (to fix a fan related problem) and have accidentally damaged the subwoofer connector on the logic board. To avoid having a short circuit or other problems, I have removed the whole thing from the logic board now and the computer boots and audio comes out, albeit with less bass and a hissing noise.

My question is can I use a USB audio interface to bypass this problem? The macbook is connected to a hifi at the moment with the normal audio out, and I thought using a USB audio out would make my woes go away.

Cheers, The RolyPolyBird!
