Hello all,
I need some help bluetoothing music from my macbook to my blackberry, I've tried to do it several ways, and it either says on my macbook that "the device does not have the necessary services" or on both that the file transfer has failed. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
JS

Can you email them to the blackberry?

Or... I've found that you can sometimes outsmart the two machines by chucking the info into a compressed folder and then doing a file transfer. This work-around requires the ability to zip/unzip on both ends and then be able to move the unzipped files. I'm not familiar with blackberry's file system so I don't know if this will work for you.

i have a bb curve. i usually turn on the bluetooth on boh my mac and bbery. then i go to the media icon on my bbery and press the back button once im there one of the options will be to receive a file using bluetooth. Click on that and follow instructions. its pretty easy

Hmmm, I feel like I finally did get it to work, but what I honestly did when I had my BB was just to throw the song files in a subdirectory of my web homepage, navigate there with the BB browser, and download them that way.

If you're using a BB with WiFi, you can even just turn the personal web server on, on your Mac, drag the files into the Sites folder, and then point to the intranet IP address of the Mac using the BB browser.

ok so basically what you need to do is enable BT on the BB and set up a BT device using your mac.
when you want to receive a file on the BB you have to go to the media > music and say "receive using BT"
then send the file from your mac to the BB.

hopefully that makes sense because I am doing this from memory.
I can test it out tonight with my BB when i get home and give further specific instructions.

what format are your files? a little more info and i could help you out better!

EDIT: okay here are step by step instructions

1. Go to BT on your Blackberry and enable it.
2. Search for devices. It should find your Mac and click Pair.
3. It will ask you to enter a passcode (I use 0000).
4. The Mac will be asked to enter the same passcode.
5. Now your BB should show the Mac under "paired devices".
6. On your BB go to the Meida and press the Menu key. Select "Receive Using Bluetooth".
It will show a screen with "File Transfer - Waiting for connection". Leave it at that.
7. Go you the BT on the Mac and find your device, in my case its Blackberry 8310. Send File.
8. Select the file you want to send and you will be promted to save it on your BB or media card.
9. Select save and it should work!

sorry what i meant to say is that my bluetooth set up on my mac still says i don't have the services needed for it to connect... ahhh

you need a micro sd chip... buy one off ebay cuz it's much cheaper than anywhere else (although buyer beware!)

Hi all, sorry to bring up such an old post, but How do you send a file from the blackberry to the mac? I've tried everything... Thanks in advance

just wanted to say that going to the media player the pulling up the menu and choosing receive file worked for me. :)
