Hi people,

First post so please be gentle!

I have bought an old Macbook mainly to try some iPhone development.
However I love OS X and have used the Macbook quite a lot for other things, including watching DVDs. I would therefore like to show the picture on an external screen.

I have a "Mini DVI to DVI-D" cable and bought a "DVI-D to VGA" adaptor.
But this doesnt seem to work with my Samsung VGA LCD PC Screen - the picture is always blank.

I just found a note on Wikipedia stating that the analog signal isn't carried by the mini DVI cable that I have.
Do I need another cable?
I take it the external screen can be used at the same time as the internal screen? I don't want or need an external keyboard/mouse.

Cheers,

Zebs

OK, thanks, now I understand.
Not had much to do with DVI stuff before.
Assumed as the cable would fit it would work -.

Thanks for the quick reply.
