Hey guys please help. I have a MacBook and an Optoma Home Theatre projector. I would like to connect them and watch movies on big screen at home. For some reason the projector is not recognizing the laptop and MacBook can not connect to projector. What should I do?

Thank you
Nick

I am using a VGA cable and at both ends an adaptor. VGA to DVI for projector and a Mac adaptor for VGA cable for laptop. Should I use them differently?
Thank you for helping me.

Nick

Nick,

You should plug your computer to the projector and if nothing happens, go to "Displays" preferences on your mac and click "Detect Displays". This should make your mac find the projector as a second display.

I've done it

Connected macs to my Optoma, Sony Pearl and also JVC RS-1 projectors.

Would never do VGA. I've used DVI to HDMI cables of various lengths and all have worked well. And that's the only way to fly IMHO. :p
