ok, I currently have a mini-dvi to vga cable that I use for an external monitor but I now need to have the macbook hookup to my tv's DVI.

Would this work, or would I need to buy something else:
use the same cord as before..mini-dvi to vga..then add a vga to dvi cable.

any ideas?
Ive done a few searches but havent found anything.

If your TV has a DVI input, then all you need is the Apple mini DVI to DVI adapter which I believe is around $19.00 at your local Apple store or Best Buy.

Your current cable will not work without another adapter anyway.

Regards.

so I should buy the mini-dvi to dvi...then buy a longer dvi-dvi cable?

Is it just easier to buy the vga-dvi cable instead?

Since I already have the mini-dvi to vga...then I would only need to buy 1 more cable instead of 2.
