Hi can anyone tell me what cable and adapter I need to connect my macbook to TV? I think it's hdmi cable but don't know which adapter I need. Do I have a mini-display port? I don't know. Please help.

TV has hdmi port. It's a MacBook [OSX 2009]

Need more info than that on the MacBook. Go to the Apple Menu (upper left corner), scroll down and select About this Mac, click the More Info... button, if it's not selected already, select Hardware in the sidebar on the left, in the right pane under Hardware Overview, what does it say after Machine Model:?

It doesn't say machine model. It says model identifier MacBook 5.2? Thanks.

Okay, that will work, it's a difference in the OS X phraseology, I'm still using OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) so the wordings different. I'll be back in a few minutes with the needed info....

Okay, it has a Mini-DVI port, so you'll need either a mini-DVI-to-HDMI adapter or a mini-DVI-to-HDMI cable if you want to simplify connections.

Monoprice.com is a good place to get 3rd party adapters/cables that are cheaper than those at the Apple Store.

Thanks Dewguy, I've been online all day trying to find out what I need and have just been getting more and more confused! Cheers.
