Alright so I want to connect my MacBook to my HDTV and I don't know what kind of cable I need, I know my TV can be a computer screen because it has the button "PC" on the remote control which takes me to a blank screen <duh> Ok, anyways, anyone ever done this? What do I have to do? Any help is appreciated, I wanna use my TV as a screen.

What types of connectors do you have available on the back of your display?

Mine, for example, all have HDMI. And I use an HDMI to DVI cable to connect to them.

On my TV, there are two options: VGA and DVI. The DVI is actually a mode of the HDMI input. So I use a DVI to HDMI cable. If DVI is an option, you should use that over VGA. I can't give you any more specific information without knowing what inputs your TV has, though. I'd suggest consulting your TV's manual or Googling for the manual online.

Ok thanks guys, here are the inputs that I have, hopefully you can tell me what cable is best to use.

1 x RCA(A/V Composite), 1 x S-Video(S-Video), 1 x HDMI(HDMI)

Best option is HDMI.

Your computer should have come with a DVI adapter. From that, you would just need a DVI to HDMI cable.

Our Sony TV's in fact came with that cable already (DVI <-> HDMI). But our Pioneer did not.
