Hey guys, I need some quick help.

I have an older, all silver MacBook Pro, before the multi touch ones, and a DVI to RCA cable. I've been trying to connect the computer to my regular, non plasma, lcd, or HD, television. So far I've managed to get a super annoying buzzing/ringing sound and lots of different colors of gray dancing around the tv screen, but nothing else.

The computer detects the display as a "VGA Display," and if I hit the view all spaces key the tv screen will go black (displaying black, not turned off black), so I guess somethings reading something.

Can I make this work?

thanks in advance.
Alex

I tried to do the same with my old PC using an S-video cable and experienced the same Buzzing and gray screen issue. I was able to get it working by turning the resolution down to 800x600 on the PC.
Was a 27" Panasonic, should it matter.
