Macbook Touchpad click prblem

Hi there,
i have a problem in clicking in my touchpad... like mouse left click i cant click on my touchpad. to enable the service i went in Preference> Keyboard & Mouse > and i did not get any touchpad option there either.
Does macbook support single clicking on touchpad or i have to click from the button below the touchpad?

Please help as i dont like to click the button everytime.

IIRC you can use a setting called tap to click or something.

thanks for your reply but kindly mention if you can where this settinng is located; i cant find anything. i am using os x 10.5.7.

System preferences (in dock or applications folder) -> trackpad -> check "clicking" under trackpad gestures. it is "tap to click"
