Macbook Trackpad Clicking....

I have the "old" black book, and suddenly my track pad has begun to make a clicking noise. If sounds as if I am clicking a mouse when I click the track pad. It is actually pretty loud and it only started doing this about two weeks ago. It is not all the time but has begun to do it more often than it was before, which is why I want to fix it.
Is there anything I can do other then going to a Apple store. I'm at school in Virginia and there is none near me.
If I were to call Apple (I do have AppleCare) is there anything they would do? Since being at school I am not able to go without my computer so shipping it out would not be possible.
I was thinking about taking apart the case myself to see if there is anything in there but I would rather do something else before that.
