Nearly every year, I have to replace the battery in my laptop. Without fail, it's every spring, but this year, it lasted a wee bit longer and made it to June. My computer said "Service Battery" for the past few weeks and since I reset the PRAM last night (my computer returned to turn on, it would turn on for half a second, do half of the chime, and then turn off at best), it refuses to charge.

Right now, it is going from "Charging" to "Not Charging" every two or so seconds. And sometimes when it finally gets past "Charging" and tells me the time, it's something like 18 hours and then quickly counts down until it goes back to "not charging". Also, the 'service battery' warning is gone. Coconut says that my battery's capacity is at 91%.

Is this a battery issue? Is it because I reset the PRAM? Suggestions please. :)

Try resetting the SMC with the instructions here.

Also, ensure you are booting off with the power cord connected the first time around.
