Another macbooks install disk for snow leopard (supplied with the machine) ?
I have a late '08 unibody macbook 13" that will be having a hard drive upgrade, so a clean install of snow leopard can be placed onto it.

My question is does it matter what install disk i use? I've been offered one from a mac mini aswell would that work?

Thanks.

Definitely not the Mac Mini. Possibly the Macbook, provided it's the same model.

Install disks generally work only with the same model and revision they came with e.g. Mac Mini (Late 2009), Mac Mini (Early 2009), etc.

It'll only work with the install disk from exactly the same model, so the Mini won't work.

Why not splash out on the $30 for the Snow Leopard retail disk?

I see,

The £25 here in the UK, i haven't actually got at the moment after buying a new hard drive. I have quite a few mac user friends that would lend me the disk, but it's just the models that im concerned about.

Eventually if it comes to it ill buy the upgrade disk.
