I'm cranking through a handbrake conversion that is taking about 15 hours. Is this a normal CPU temp for a full load? Is it too hot? What are my options.
THanks---I just felt the bottom of the machine and lit a cigarette off of it. slid some ice packs under it to cool it and create some space for airflow. Reading 76 after about 10 mins.----and now it's warming up again. Nothing to worry about?
When encoding video, I use SmcFanControl to bump up the RPM of the fan to max, simply because I'm paranoid about overheating (my MBP has reached 100c on numerous occasions)
SmcFC is completely safe, since it only allows you to increase the fan speed to *higher* than default.
