Hello,

I'm looking to buy a Intel 520 Series SSD (120GB) and install it in my late 2008 Macbook Unibody. Currently it is running OS X Lion, I'm wondering if I need to enable TRIM support under Lion, using the TRIM Enabler? What else should I be aware when I use SSD under Lion?

Thank you!

Yes, you will definitely need to enable TRIM, or it will bog down and become slower than a normal HD VERY quickly. There are no other things really apart from TRIM. Works fine on my old macbook

Going to disagree, and say its Not really needed on the intel 520 as its a sand force based drive which have aggressive garbage collection. This is my experience so far on my mac mini. I have left some extra space for the chipset to do its collection.

YMMV plenty of material on the web on arguments for and against!

Ps my 520 120GB is performing at approx 300mb read and 200mb write with incompressible data. Boot is less than 10 seconds.
