I have seen many post about other models and how to fix the screen but not the 13.3 unibody from late 2008. I'm not 100% sure but I think the issue is the video cable. This is due to the fact that if I simply move the screen back and forth long enough, it will work for a while. Any advice?

I was just about to post a question about a potential issue with a thermal paste application I just did and thought I should share that my screen used to flicker like that and when I closed the laptop down and opened it again the screen would be black with the backlight on and the mouse visible but nothing else. After putting fresh thermal paste on the heatsink my monitor issues are gone. If you find no other solutions, consider reapplying thermal paste.
