Hi,last week my girlfriend spilt out a glass of water over the table where her macbook unibody was. Some drops felt on the keyboard nex to the "q" letter (but just a few) and some keys from that area where not working anymore. I took the laptop to Apple repair service but they realice there had been water in the macbook because of the 3M sensors where red... so they ask me for 300€ just to replace the topcase.
I refused the budget of the Apple repair service and decided to fix it by myself. I bid for a topcase for $100 in the US with US layout (the macbook's original layout is Spanish). The problem, I replaced the part today BUT surprise, letters don't work, just symbols, numbers and the top row of keys (volume, etc). Everything else seems to work perfect (display, hard drive, etc). I've checked over and over again all connectors and they look well connected.
The weird thing is when I run windows thought Parallels the keyboard is fully working, although from time to time stops working for a while as when I type in mac...
Is there any step I've missed out?
This is driving me crazy... I thought it'd be just plug and enjoy.
Any suggestion?
PS. Sorry because of my englis, I'm spaniard.
