Anyone hear of crack forming around the hinge on the unibody macbook?

Noticed two over the weekend here on mine and it's pretty substantial.

Anyone else out there experience this?

No

I have a alu unibody macbook!! and it's my second lid because my screen ended with a fail! so no! never had any problems with cracking on the hinge end

Well,

Just talked to Apple Care and they pretty much told me I'm on my own, good luck.

I'm pretty PO'ed right now.

Go to the store, don't use the phone, HAVE SOMEONE LOOK AT IT. They'll see its been cared for, others here have had this issue and been replaced free of charge. The hinges have two hairlines right?, thats what others had and were replaced, the thread is somewhere on these boards...

That's the plan, but it's about four hours of a drive.

Hope I don't freak out when I get there.

yeah I have the same problem as you. My big problem is I really like the screen that I have now and if I get it replaced I might get a screen that I don't like so I am still trying to decide what to do about this hole thing. But I am very disappointed with Apple at this point. that this is even a problem in the first place.

I wonder how bad it can get. If it wasn't going to get worst, I'd be ok with it, dont' want to see it get any more cracked.
