I have 1.5" vertical lines coming down my screen. It started off with one and sometimes turns into three. They sometimes go away when i mess with the angle of the screen assembly. I don't want to change the lcd/led screen and thats not the problem. Could it be something wrong in the hinge area? A video connector cable? The only safe way of fixing it was to just change the whole assembly but maybe i can narrow it down.

There was a known issue with some of the first batch of Macbook screens (sorry I forget who the manufactor of those screens were). Do a search in these forums for LCD screens as you can verify by the serial # and manufactor date.

You might want to call your local Apple store and genius bar to have them look at it and possibly replace it for free.:apple:

this was a result of a drop, doubt they would fix it for free. The labor isn't difficult, i just want to know which is the right part to replace.
