Hi MacRumors,

I have an older white Macbook Unibody from 2010. Everything on the outside of the Macbook have very bad scracthes and damages, but the hardware and screen is just fine.

Is it possible for me to replace everything on the outside (the unibody), without replacing hardware, screen, trackpad, keyboard etc?

Looks like iFixit has some of the case parts you would need to do that, but I think it would quickly add up to much more than that machine is worth. You might be better off just selling it then buying a used 2011-2012 MBP for only a bit more money.

I don't know how bad it is scuffed but I was able to fix up a relatives some by buffing the heck out of it was some automotive paint rubbing compound like this. It did not get deep scratches out, but it got rid of a lot of the scuffing and really made it look better.
