I have a late 2008 Macbook 13" aluminum unibody.

About 3 weeks ago, the screen started to randomly fade out. The whole process takes about 15 seconds to turn completely white and freeze. I had to shut down the computer and restart.

Then I noticed that just pressing the power button (not holding it down) during the fade process would stop it.

Then I noticed that just lightly tapping the screen with my finger would stop it from fading out and it would return to normal.

In the past hour it happened twice, but sometimes it will go all day without happening at all. I'm not positive, but it may occur more often when I am streaming video...

I have read other posts and tried resetting PRAM, but that did not help.... and given that it seems to respond to a physical stimulus, I'm thinking that is not the issue any way.

Any thoughts?
