MacBook Unibody SUPER SLOW BOOT...

I have the White MacBook Unibody, and originally it was super fast on boot; the battery life was great, too. I switched to Lion and now my battery life is significantly less, and after running Lion for a few months, my boot time is completely ridiculous. I'm talking 5+ minutes. I've reset the PRAM. I've had a dozen issues with this computer.

Open Activity Monitor and select All Processes and then either sort by Real Mem to show you the process(es) using up your RAM or/and sort by CPU to show you the processes slowing down your Mac.

You can use the following applications to benchmark the speed of your HDD / SSD, to see, if it is the culprit:

• Blackmagic Disk Speed Test
• Xbench
