Hello - A couple of questions;

1) Since the MacBook was only updated in October 09, do you think it is relatively safe (other than perhaps a speed-bump) to buy one now or is there a major revision looming?

2) For those who have the MB UB, does the track-pad area scratch really easy since it is made of the same high gloss material as the exterior which I know is prone to hairline scratches etc?

Thanks for your help.

Seems relatively safe to me. In some cases the specs are higher than in the entry-level Pro, so that gives Apple cover to not update the plastic when it next updates the other laptops.

pretty safe.. it will not see any major spec bumps for awhile...

my sister just got one and the trackpad is identical to the mbp and i have not heard of any real issues with it. the palm area is super glossy and does attract fingerprints but does not seem overly prone to scratching....

id say its a pretty solid laptop, i wouldnt worry.
