Macbook update issues

hi guys

hoping you can help me.

i recently updated my software on my macbook pro, my software is currently running OS X 10.9.1

now the update seems to be fine but for my quicktime player, my movies etc worked on the macbook before the update, now pretty much all of the films when i go to watch them start up quicktime but it says its converting, which is fine but it never does convert i left it for over a hour and it always seem to stop at the same place all the time

also i can only seem to do one convert at one time has anyone experienced this problem??

You're in the wrong forum this is for Mac Pro desktops.

Seems like you might be playing back MKV maybe with Perian which is now broken when you upgrade to Mavericks. Try downloading MplayerX from their site and see if you have a problem with that.
