Has anyone heard if the updated MacBooks that come out at the end of September (allegedly) will be the same price as the current MacBooks or if the current MB's will drop in price when they release the newer versions?

I'd like to get an updated MB as long as they don't jack the price up. If they do, I'll stick with the current or older MB's.

Apple sometimes put prices up if they greatly enhance a product, however normally they will keep the price the same but make it faster. There were rumours however that Apple would drop the price by $100 or so to sell more units.

Probably the only people who know as of today is Steve, and the CFO. proly the COO doesnt even know yet lol

While nobody predict this with utter certainty, the past few cycles have seen updates/upgrades issued usually at the same price as the older, to be superseded product; in turn, the older, superseded products are usually then discounted, sometimes quite generously. However, as pointed out by previous posters, this is all still speculation. Cheers.
