I have that hard drive in my aluminum MB and it has been in my white first gen as well. It works perfect in both machines. You'll be very happy with it. -GDF

Correct hard drive, wrong RAM. you need SODIMM (204pin) DDR3 RAM.

Thanks for the help, I think I'll buy the RAM you suggested.

Just wondering, is this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146878 any different? It is said to be "perfect for Apple systems" by Newegg, but it is more expensive than what you suggested and I can't find any differences between it and what you suggested.

Go to Otherworld Computing, select "My OWC", pick the Mac model that you have, and it shows all available upgrades they have for your computer. Takes some of the guesswork out of the equation. The RAM I bought from them works great in my unibody MacBook.

That site seems to be very expensive compared to Newegg. I did notice that it said the aluminum MB supports 6 GB or RAM with one 2GB and one 4GB stick. Is this true?
